👗 AI Outfit Picker Skill – Setup Guide

💡 What this skill does: Claude analyzes photos of your wardrobe, learns your style, connects to your Google Calendar and weather, and suggests a complete outfit every morning — tailored to your schedule and the forecast.

🧭 Overview

This is a Claude Project-based skill. Once set up, you open Claude each morning and ask for your outfit — no re-explaining needed. Claude already knows your wardrobe, your style, and your day.

FeatureWhat it does
📸 Wardrobe catalogReads photos of your clothes and builds a full inventory
🌤️ Weather-awareFactors in today's temperature and conditions
📅 Calendar-awareReads your Google Calendar to know your schedule
🎯 Style-matchedLearns what you love, hate, and actually reach for

📋 Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1 — Photograph Your Wardrobe

Lay your clothes out on your bed in groups:

Take 10–15 photos covering all categories. You don't need a photo of every single item — just get everything in frame per group.

📌 Tip: Good lighting = better color recognition. Natural light by a window works great.

Step 2 — Create a New Claude Project

  1. Go to claude.ai and click Projects in the sidebar
  2. Create a New Project (name it something like "My Wardrobe")
  3. Upload all your wardrobe photos to the project
📌 Claude Projects let Claude remember your wardrobe permanently — you only do this setup once.

Step 3 — Run the Wardrobe Catalog Prompt

Paste this prompt into your project to kick things off:

I'm going to share photos of my wardrobe with you. Please catalog everything you can see by:
- Category (tops, bottoms, dresses, jackets, shoes, accessories)
- Color and pattern
- Vibe/style (casual, professional, going out, athletic, etc.)
- Any notable details (fabric weight, formality level)

Once you've cataloged everything, ask me the following questions one at a time:
1. How would you describe your personal style in 3–5 words?
2. Which outfits or pieces do you feel best in?
3. What do you never reach for, and why?
4. What are the main dress codes in your life? (e.g., WFH, office, casual weekends, nights out, gym)
5. Are there any pieces you want to wear more but don't know how to style?

After I answer, save everything as my style profile and wardrobe inventory so you can use it going forward.
💬 Why this prompt works

It does two things at once: builds an objective inventory (what you own) and captures your subjective style (what you actually like wearing). Claude uses both layers when making outfit suggestions — so recommendations are practical, not just aesthetically correct.

Step 4 — Connect Google Calendar

  1. In Claude, go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Connect your Google Calendar
  3. Grant read access so Claude can see your upcoming events

Once connected, Claude will check your schedule before suggesting an outfit — so it knows if you have back-to-back Zoom calls vs. a dinner reservation vs. a rest day.

⚠️ Note: Calendar integration is available on Claude Pro. Make sure you're signed in to the right Google account.

🌅 Daily Use — Morning Outfit Prompt

Every morning, open your Claude Project and send this:

What should I wear today? Check my Google Calendar for today's schedule and factor in the current weather in [your city]. Suggest a complete outfit from my wardrobe — top, bottom, shoes, and any layers or accessories. Tell me why you picked it.
✏️ Customize this prompt for your needs

Add a mood: "I want to feel confident today" or "Something low-effort but put-together"

Add a constraint: "I have a video call at 10am but I'm walking to the coffee shop after"

Add a vibe: "I want to try something I don't usually wear"

🔄 Keeping Your Wardrobe Updated

When you get new clothes or donate old ones, just tell Claude:

I got a new item: [describe it — color, type, material, vibe]. Add it to my wardrobe catalog.

Or upload a new photo to the project and ask Claude to catalog it.
